We walked the last stretch of route 66 on our march towards the Pacific Ocean. We were walking outside of Helendale, CA when we came across this bottle forest. There were hundreds of metal scuptures adorned with recycled bottles. That was the high light of the walk as most of the walk was through a heavily mined area with many large fast moving trucks.
Our team has been busy the last few days walking and preparing for our visit to Los Angeles. We are arriving there on the 16th and will be there a few days after the spring equinox on the 20th. Our time in the desert has been amazing. And our walk today was challenging for all our walking teams due to wind, blisters, and steep climbing. We walked with hearts full of love and prayers of healing for all the people affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
We left the high desert and ended up in the Angeles mountains. There is just a mountain range between us and LA now. And we are anticipating a great time in Los Angeles. Please visit our LA schedule of events for details about where we will be and what we will be doing. This page will be updated frequently between now and then so check back often…
